Betway have a welcome bonus open to UK customers that can earn up to £30.00 as a free bet. This is a growing site in Britain that has used clever advertising and sponsorship to bring themselves more into the public eye and I thought it was time I got involved.

So how easy was the sign up process, did I receive my bonus as promised and were Betway helpful along the way? Here’s what I found.

The terms and conditions of the welcome deal are laid out in a logical order. There are different offers depending on which part of the world you are based but unlike some outlets, Betway make sure that their offer is an easy one to follow.

When you head to their main sportsbook page there is also a very distinctive banner ad which promotes the offer.

You can also access the terms and conditions from this page but if you click on the main part of the banner it will take you through to the registration area. Our new account holder is based in the UK so he qualified for welcome offer number 1 which promises up to £30 as a welcome bonus.

The registration process here was really very easy indeed and came in three quick and simple to follow sections.

The first part just asks for a Username and then we have to pick a password before inputting our preferred e-mail address. (see pic on the right)

Then we are asked for some very basic personal details. (see pic on the right)

Finally it’s our contact details, check the terms and conditions and that’s it! A very fast process to get your new account underway.

Within 5 minutes an e-mail arrived in our designated account which welcomed us to Betway and mentions the £30 offer. We want to take advantage of this quickly so it’s time to fund our new account.

This is where I had a slight issue as I wanted to pay by credit card but the initial deposit of £30.00 wasn’t accepted. This was puzzling as I had enough money to cover that deposit but it did at least give me the opportunity to contact customer support

Betway’s live chat button is prominent on all pages so I clicked on this and the window came up instantly. I was informed that I was first in the queue and an operator was with me in less than 30 seconds.

I described my issue and my helper gave me two suggestions:

• 1. Clear my cache
• 2. Make a deposit at an odd amount of say £30.99

Clearing your cache is naturally a very sensible thing to do but if you’re short on time and have trouble remembering passwords then it can be annoying. I therefore tried to deposit £30.99 and this didn’t work.

Betway’s support finally suggested Paypal as I could use this and still qualify for the welcome bonus. I tried this and happily the funds were accepted instantly.

Finally it was time to place a bet! I wanted to stake in the football markets and thought I had spotted some value in the FA Cup replay between Leicester City and Spurs. The website is easy to navigate and it was a quick process to find the football page which led me in turn to my selected match.

As you can see, there are a lot of side bets – over 100 – but the one that interested me was Leicester to qualify. It was priced at 10/11 and this is above the threshold required by Betway in order to qualify for the free bet bonus.

10/11 equates to 1.91 and you must take a single bet of 1.75 or higher.

So with my bet placed I watched the game. Unfortunately Leicester lost but when I checked our account the following morning, my £30.00 bonus had already been made available. I then placed this on another football event – Sunderland to beat Bournemouth on 23/01/2016.

Other points to note

Within 2 hours of opening the account I received an e-mail asking for verification via a form of ID. An SMS request also followed and I was given 72 hours in which to do this otherwise the account would be locked.

I forwarded a UK passport for this and Betway confirmed within 3 hours that everything was OK.

Although my ability to pick a winning bet was lacking, I enjoyed the sign up process at Betway and are likely to add further funds in order to continue the relationship. Everything was easily laid out, the offer page was simple to understand and the registration process has to be one of the fastest around.

The issue with debit card funding was annoying but this was likely to have been a problem at our end and no fault of Betway’s. Fortunately, it was very easy to fund with Paypal and my money was available instantly. I found support to be quick and very helpful with this matter.

Verification followed and this was also quick while my bonus money appeared as promised. Overall this was a fast and positive procedure and we can highly recommend Betway as a provider.
