Ticket Sales Started for the 2014 World Cup

In August the first stage of the football ticket sale for next year’s World Cup in Brazil began. Those interested may still register by the 10th of October in the International Federation’s website (www.fifa.com). FIFA will notify everyone whom they had contact in the first phase by no later than 5th November. Every customer is allowed to purchase up to a maximum of seven tickets up to 4 different matches. Non-Brazilian citizens can enter the group stage matches for $90 dollars, while they can see the World Cup final starting from $990. The organizers reserved the cheapest tickets for the Brazilians.

During the first phase of the sale about 1 million tickets are offered for sale out of the 3.3 million. 4.5 million requests were received for the 2014 Brazilian World Cup, one week before the closing of the first phase of ticket sales. Thierry Weil FIFA Marketing Director called this fascinating and a manifestation of extremely high interest. 77 percent of ticket requests were received from Brazil, roughly 3.4 million admissions, 223,686 from Argentina, while from Europe England tickets are the most sought for.
