MintBet Review

While they went online as recently as 2017, MintBet have their roots in the McBride Racing Brand which has been active in Ireland for over 40 years so there is some history behind them.

The online operation has that feel of a traditional bookie so what exactly can you enjoy here and why should you look to sign up with MintBet?

If you do 10 bets of £10 or more you qualify for a weekly £10 free bet

A “Qualifying Bet” is a bet that is placed and settled of €/£10 or more at betting odds (or accumulative odds for multiple bets) of Evens (2.0) or greater.

The sportsbook promotions are geared up to existing customers so for those looking for a welcome bonus, it has to be used on the casino side. It is set at a generous £500 as a 100% opening deposit match but if you want to focus solely on sports, there are ongoing offers that can add extra value.

MintBet list a 100% profit boost on first goalscorer bets on selected football matches. On top of an initial successful payout, additional returns will be paid if your player scores the second and third goal. Football continues to attract the main focus with a 20% acca boost for winning trebles and four-folds plus a Red Card Refund on English Premier League games.

Other sports are covered however with Best Odds Guarantee Scheme on horse racing plus an all-sports acca insurance. Overall, it’s a very good package for those willing to look beyond the missing welcome bonus.

Sports Markets / Odds

We’ve already seen from that list of offers that football is a very big deal at MintBet and in general this is a bookie that likes to get behind traditional sports. A list of those sports is available on the top bar of the home page but when the drop down bar is clicked, the following appears and this is the full schedule of available markets.

American Football, Australian Rules Football, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, MMA, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Football, GAA Football, GAA Hurling. Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Motor Sports, Pool, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Tennis, Volleyball, Winter Sports.

That’s a really good range with only the most obscure of niches finding themselves excluded while an additional set of ‘specials’ covers politics and entertainment betting.

As for prices, the value is there on those core sports with odds comparing well when put up against the established brands and there are regular, daily price boosts to give them an extra lift.

Debit and credit cards are the only option as far as funding is concerned and this is maybe one area that MintBet should be looking to expand upon. No eWallets are currently included on the list, not even the main providers Skrill and Neteller.

The rules that apply are fairly standard so you can’t withdraw to a card that you haven’t already funded from and transactions are free and instant. If you can access a card, it should all be fine but it would be good to see some alternatives.

Customer Service

The live chat button is prominent on all pages of the MintBet sportsbook. The tab appears on the right hand edge of the page and will take you through to an operator in a matter of seconds.

If you are happy with something less instant, the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page leads to an email address. There are no obvious FAQs but that’s not an option that many punters look at these days so overall it’s a strong set of options.

The big plus for us as far as Mintbet is concerned lies in those promotions for existing customers. There is a good choice of them and they are all potentially very profitable in their own right. It does mean that punters will have to look beyond the fact that there is no welcome offer here but we feel it’s worth doing.

The funding options are also small but we’re seeing a lot of new cases where debit and credit cards are the only available methods so this isn’t unusual. Service is good but the main theme is value, both with standard odds, regular price boosts and those additional offers which can make MintBet a productive place to play.

  • Excellent set of ongoing promotions
  • Wide range of sporting markets with strong prices across the board
  • New bookmaker but one that originates from an established brand

  • No welcome bonus on the sportsbook as of February 2018
  • Only debit and credit cards currently available as funding methods
