Signing up with Paddy Power

For many, Paddy Power are one of the first bookies to sign up to and in the main, that’s down to a clever and entertaining advertising campaign. There is certainly plenty to enjoy and a real sense of fun but behind the laughs, why should you add this popular bookie to your portfolio?

The welcome offer is a 300% match on your first deposit but that initial credit is capped at £10.00 and the freebies are given as three free bet tokens of £10.00 each. So there are higher deals around but if this was quick and easy to use then it would be worth taking advantage of.

Clearly it was time to check them out.

The Welcome Offer

Paddy Power’s welcome bonus can be easily spotted from the home page with a big banner ad displayed on the top right hand side.

It’s also easy to locate the terms and conditions with a link clearly displayed and when you hit this, those Ts and Cs will appear in separate window.

At first glance, this looks like a very easy offer to follow and all these terms are clear and straightforward. I was happy with those so it was on to the registration page.

For more information on the current bonus offers and other bookie data like payment options, customer support, company data and more please refer to our Paddy Power review.

There is nothing unusual about this part of the process – although you can speed things up even further by registering with Paypal and syncing your information.

You’ll note that Paddy’s distinct brand starts to come through here with comments at every stage. ‘Everyone has a first name’ it says on the prompt as you start to work down. Overall, this was very fast and as soon as I hit the submit button I was taken to the funding page.

There are several options for UK customers but to be sure of the welcome offer, it pays to use either a debit or credit card or, alternatively, Paypal. The choice is yours – personally I like to use e-wallets for all of my gaming and within less than a minute, I had done the transfer and the funds were in my account, all ready to use.

This was a very positive part of the process. I prefer it when a bookmaker takes you straight to the funding page when the registration part is complete and I was funded and ready to bet in around two minutes!

Placing a Bet

List of Sports

List of Sports

As you can see, Paddy Power offer a set of quick links to their most popular bets of the day and this appears first on the left hand side of the sportsbook page. Scroll down a little further and you can find a full, A to Z listing of all markets offered so it should be very quick and easy to get to the bet that you want.

I was looking to stake on one of the English FA Cup matches taking place the following day and this was one of the ‘Quick Links’ quoted so it was a simple task of clicking that and finding the game in question.

From here it’s just a standard procedure: click on your selection and a bet slip opens in the top right hand corner.

Click on that Bet Now button and you get a receipt straight away.

Once again, staking a bet here is a very fast and simple process.

Bonus Funds

I was very pleased to see that as soon as I had staked with my opening bet, my three freebies were already there ready to use. You have 30 days in which to use all three so for now, I just took one and staked on the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.

The procedure couldn’t be simpler and it’s great to know that the three free bets will all be credited instantly.

Paddy offer a number of ways to get in touch but like most players, I like to access any live chat whenever possible. So, click on the button and this window will appear.

It took about two minutes to connect so if you don’t have a lot of patience then this may not be the method for you. When I did get a response, I asked for confirmation on the free bets – how long did I have to use them before they expired? The operator stated that there was a 30 day limit.

One of the reasons for signing up here was to find out if there was real substance to Paddy Power. We all know that this is a fun brand but what about their offers and prices? Is it viable for serious punters to open an account here?

Fortunately it was a very positive process from the start. Signing up was easy and then you are instantly taken to the deposit screen where you add funds and start playing.

The offer may not be the biggest around but getting 3 x £10.00 free bets is a good deal and the best news is that they appear as soon as you make that qualifying, opening stake.

Customer support was OK and the prices / choice of markets looks really good so I certainly plan to hang around for the long term.
