Everton v Chelsea: League Leaders to Close in on Title?
It’s a huge weekend of Premier League action and the fate of a number of teams could be decided by the end of it. Chelsea won’t be certain of claiming the Premier League title if they get the three points away at Everton on Sunday but if Spurs fail to beat Arsenal on the same day, then the trophy will surely be heading to West London in May.
This isn’t an easy fixture however and Everton have been impressive this season under Ronald Koeman and Chelsea’s league form is a little patchy coming into the game. Can you therefore find any value among the best betting sites?
A strong and physical Everton side will definitely provide a test, particularly at their Goodison Park ground but it’s Chelsea who lead the result betting here at best odds of 11/10 with Stan James and BetBright. The draw is the second favourite option at a top price of 27/10 with BetBright and Paddy Power while Everton follow at a best of 141/50 with MarathonBet.
Six points and twenty places separate these teams in the Premier League but recent form is very even. Chelsea lost those two league games to Crystal Palace and Manchester United but have still won four of their last six while Everton have drawn three, won two and lost just one in the same period.
This could be tight and that’s why Chelsea are odds against, despite their league dominance. It’s a tough call but Conte’s men have won their last two matches by four goals to two, suggesting they are back to their best and ready to claim the points.
Individual Goal Scorers
Main Chelsea striker Diego Costa showed against Southampton that he is also back on top form and the Spanish international is favourite to score the first goal at 7/2 with Paddy Power and Winner Sports. Former Chelsea player and current Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is the league’s leading scorer and next on this list at a top price of 51/10 with MarathonBet.
Included among the options are some of our favourite players for the anytime markets. Eden Hazard has come good for us this year in a prolific season for the Belgian and he is on offer here at 9/5 with 32Red. However, we’ll switch our allegiance for this game and take a punt on Lukaku instead.
The Everton striker seems destined to leave Goodison Park in the summer as he seeks out Champions League football and Chelsea are one of the clubs linked with his signature. As he looks to put himself in the shop window, an impressive display, topped by an anytime goal at 13/8 with SkyBet will make the London club’s owners take notice.
Other Side Bets
Everton can usually be relied upon for entertaining football and plenty of goals with their 3-2 defeat at Spurs earlier in the season being a good example of that. These sides are both in good touch in front of goal so we are going to bet over the 3.5 goal line which is quoted at a top price of 9/4 with BetBright.
The last two games involving Chelsea have produced six goals on both occasions so it suggests that the defence is not so confident and may be open to Everton’s strikeforce.
If you want a longer punt in the correct score betting, 3-2 in favour of Chelsea is going to be attractive at best odds of 28/1 with Bet365 while a repeat, 4-2 showing for the London club is quoted at an excellent top price of 70/1 with Paddy Power.
The final scoreline may not be quite so emphatic but Chelsea look to be the best option for this game after such a positive return to form in the last seven days. Everton have enjoyed a good season and are a threat to any side but we expect Antonio Conte’s men to come through and snatch the points in what should be an entertaining and tight contest this Sunday.
- Chelsea to win at 11/10 with Stan James
