All the 12 Brazilian Stadiums will have Free Wi-Fi Access

The World Cup will take place in 12 stadiums altogether next year. Short after the Confederations Cup – highly successful in professional circles – the organizers have announced that during the tournament free Wi-Fi network will be available in all the stadiums, with the aim to reduce bottlenecks in the 3G and 4G telecom infrastructures in and around the venues.

According to the preliminary plans, roughly about 30 to 40 percent of the data usage will go through the Wi-Fi infrastructure provided by the SindiTelebrasil company. This will be necessary indeed, since the telecom infrastructure’s actual capacity may not be sufficient for the extreme data usage demanded by the World Cup according to experts familiar with the Brazilian market.
